Our Residents in the Community!

Monday, December 29th, 2008

On October 5, 2008, our Residents & Dr. Nakama volunteered in “Child & Youth Day” at the capitol – an event hosted by educational and service providers geared toward youth & families. They helped draw faces with kids showing their emotions, and handed out brochures on mental illness to parents.

They also participated in “Beyond the Blues” on October 24, 2008 – an event held yearly by Mental Health America to raise awareness about depression. They provided free depression screening forms to fill out with people & faces for kids to color in.

They volunteered at both events as members of the Hawai’i Psychiatric Medical Association (HPMA), our local branch of the American Psychiatric Association (APA).

Good job Residents!
